Open Nights and Careers Expo

Opportunities for 2025 and beyond

The College held three big events to promote enrolments and the various opportunities for students in 2025 and beyond.

On 6 May, the Year 7 2025 Open Night was held at the Padua Campus. The College Principal, Mr 天美传媒官网, presented to prospective students and families, before MacKillop students took our guests on tours of the campus. The event also included a special 'Teach at MacKillop' section of stalls for those interested in working at MacKillop.

On 10 May, more than 500 Year 6 students from Canberra and NSW spent a day at the Padua Campus for Try MacKillop Day. This event gave our visitors the opportunity to experience a day of high school and to see what classes at MacKillop are like.

On 15 May, the St Peter鈥檚 Campus hosted the Year 11 2025 Open Night and Careers Expo. Students were able to access a range of stalls where they could talk with universities, CIT, employment groups, apprenticeships centres, trades, and industry representatives in order to understand their options and opportunities in the future. With those opportunities in mind, Year 10 students were also able to visit curriculum stalls to chat about courses and to plan out their senior studies for the next two years. The Careers Expo is one of the most valuable events for our senior students in the planning of their pathways after Year 12.

The College thanks all the staff and students who organised and ran these three big events, as well as the external organisations who contributed. The feedback from visitors was extremely positive.

For students who wish to enrol in Year 7 or Year 11 at MacKillop, please be aware that applications are due on the following dates:

  • Year 7, 2025: Friday 31 May at 5pm
  • Year 11, 2025: Friday 5 July at 5pm (new students only)

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: 鈥淲e are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.鈥

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
